Everyone is fond of eating. Food is something that is always a highlight for every party, gathering, meeting etc. The variety of food at every one of these occasions attract you to try everything. But that is exactly what causes you to hold your stomach and grimace. It’s not because of eating but because of the inappropriate combination of food intake. There have been many types of research that depicted, some foods and fruits in combination with others are always a recipe for poor stomach health.

According to Ayurveda, every food has its own chemical combination, heating/cooling capacity, freshness factor, energy levels and post-digestion effects. An energy inside of your body (called as Agni) is what keeps a positive balance post-digestion. But sometimes foods and fruits of different tastes, types, energies etc. overload the energy inside of you causing an unfavorable effect within your stomach.

An extremely deadly combination is of Honey with an equal weight of ghee. Another extremely bad combination is built when Honey is inadvertently cooked or boiled. It is said to create a poison. Hence, consuming Honey without alteration is the best form of consumption.
Yogurt along with following eatables is highly incompatible:
- Hot drinks
As a sour and heavy food item, yogurt leads to increased secretions in the body glands. This is why, when it is combined with other food items, it can disrupt the normal digestive function of the body.
A confirmed rule of all time is to avoid eating any food with a fruit. There could be some exceptions to this rule including a few cooked combinations and dates and milk. In order to avoid falling sick, it is best to consume fruits on their own because they generally do not go very well with any other food combinations.
Who doesn’t love a nice cup of tea or coffee? You may even love green tea. But the comforting smell of a hot drink can take a turn for the worse if our stomach refuses the combination of eatable taken with it. Top in the list of to be avoided food items are:
A tinge of lemon always makes anything taste amazing. But it is necessary to avoid it with the following and take care that these combinations can be highly dangerous to your and your loved ones’ health because lemon is known to react badly with many other food items and cause stomach issues.

But this could prove to be quite harmful when combined with Melons, Cucumber and Dairy Products. Be sure to keep an eye on what you eat with your favorite food.
Hence, it is advisable to always eat fruits and vegetables in combination that suits your inner energy and does not cause you unnecessary problems with your digestive system.
Some useful tips to aid in digestion!
- Consuming ½ spoon of grated ginger with a pinch of rock salt before every meal, stimulates body energy and improves digestion.
- Ghee is also a very powerful ingredient to aid your digestion due to its cooling effect.
- Taking small sips of warm water is extremely helpful in increasing digestion process as well as absorption of food.
- A glass of lassi after meal taken by blending yogurt (1/4 glass) and water (1 cup) along with ginger and cumin powder, makes digestion process a lot smoother.
- Another way to help your digestion is proper chewing of food. The more the food mixes with saliva, the better your food is digested.
- It is advisable to always fill your stomach 2/3rd out of which half is with water and the other half is with food.
