If Singers/Rappers were Indian food dishes!

Offbeat

Imagine going to the concert of your favorite singer and coming back home to find, mom made your favorite dish for dinner. Sounds perfect right?

Whether it’s Shawn Mendes’ soulful voice that can treat you better than anything else or Taylor Swift’s catchy beats that you secretly love after all the denial, music always gets you in a good mood.

BUT AT THE SAME TIME

Eating steaming hot momos till you can’t feel the roof of your mouth or eating aloo chat engulfed in sweet and sour chutneys at your local market gets you in an equally cheerful mood.

If only the worlds of music and food could collide. Sigh! Since that can’t happen in the real world, there’s no harm in envisaging that in our little heads.

Singers/rappers as Indian food dishes!

1. Justin Drew Bieber- Pav Bhaji

Just like Pav Bhaji, the Biebs is also a household name throughout the country. His enchanting voice and looks are quite similar to the combo of those soft buns dipped in the thickly fried bhaji. And those cute dance moves of his are like the onions on the side, small but necessary.

One bite and you’d be like baby baby baby oooh!

2. One Direction- Idli Sambhar

Idli Sambhar and coconut chutney are inseparable and incomplete without each other just like the boys of one direction. They may sound good individually but together they sure sound like heaven.

After having it once you would be going in just one direction, the nearest food outlet.

The togetherness of the dish is what makes it beautiful just like the boys.

3. Robyn Rihanna Fenty- Butter Chicken

Rihanna similar to our Butter chicken has millions of fans all around the world going crazy over her.

Riri’s firm voice is mirrored in the strong hint of masala in the chicken, which makes them both unique and widely loved.

You eat butter chicken once and it’s a definite love for the brain!

4. Bangtan Sonyeondan- Rajasthani Thali

The thali has so many elements that you can never get bored of, every delicacy is like a new surprise and all of them together is a godsend. The boys of this upcoming K-Pop band are no different, singing, rapping, dancing and of course good visuals all in just one performance is a delight.

The super talented BTS are unpredictable and you can never get bored and can always expect something different, much like our grand thali.

5. Beyonce Giselle Knowles- Samosa

There’s no doubt about the fact that Samosa is the queen of all dishes very much like our Queen B. Great singers may come and go, Bey is forever and so is Samosa our bae forever.

It’s so versatile with its crunch, spice, hypnotizing stuffing and the bonus chutney. And so is Beyonce with her angelic voice, killer dance moves, and charming features.

Word is that if you look closely at her, you can see her Halo!

6. Fifth Harmony- Pani Puri

When you dip that stuffed puri in flavored water, you experience sweet, salty and spicy, all at once.

Something similar happens when you listen to fifth harmony’s music. You never know when it’s going to be a catchy pop beat, or a soothing song or a dance jam because it gets stuck all in your head!

The harmony isn’t just in the name but also in their voices which makes their every song worth it!

7. Aubrey Drake Graham- Turmeric Latte

Humbly known as Haldi ka Doodh here in India, turmeric latte had people losing cool over it as it becomes an overnight star worldwide just like Drake’s Keke challenge.

Now that you think of it, it’s quite addictive, if not the best and has got healing power much like Drake’s songs.

Well, maybe it’s just God’s Plan after all!

8. Ariana Grande Butera- Ras Malai

Ari’s voice is pretty much a sweetener as if made out of the syrup from Ras Malai. The dessert is a delight to the eyes and the stomach and usually leaves you licking your spoon from side to side.

Belting those high notes like it’s nothing, Ariana somehow still manages to keep a cool and rather smiley composure paralleled in the sweet dish with its cold but soft texture.

9. Shawn Raul Mendes- Biryani

One of the most loved new gen artists has striking similarities to one of the most loved dishes.

People who haven’t tried real biryani might often claim it’s overhyped, but once you have it there’s no going back. Just like once you listen to Shawn’s melodious voice there’s nothing holding you back.

His music is so peaceful yet so evoking like the many flavors of biryani.

10. Onika Tanya Maraj- Chole Bhature

AKA Nicki Minaj AKA the Queen of Rap! No one other than her could be the human version of chole bhature. This favorite breakfast dish of many exudes grandeur and power just like Chun-Li and forever will be the reigning queen of all.

Her bars are as effortless as the butter sliding on chole.

You go ahead and tell all those who haven’t heard of the queen to rake it up!

Alright, back to reality…! 🙂
