A Difficult Choice: TEA or COFFEE

There might be very few people in this world whose morning does not start with a cup of Tea or a Coffee. Either of these beverages is a must for one to kick-start their day. Having a cup of either of them makes you feel less lazy & more confident. 

So let’s get to know more about Tea and Coffee.

TEA:

Tea is the second most consumed beverage after water on this planet. It’s the most popular beverage consumed by two-thirds of the world’s population. In 2016, the total production of tea in the world was about 6 million tonnes which were mainly led by China (40%) and India (22%) other majors were Kenya, Sri Lanka, Turkey.

TYPES OF TEA:

  • BLACK TEA:

Mainly when we talk about tea of western culture we talk about Black Tea. Black tea is more oxidized tea than any other kind of tea. Just because of its more oxidizing nature, the Black Tea would retain its nature and flavor for a longer period of time.

Black Tea is majorly produced in China and the same is mostly exported to other countries

  • OOLONG TEA:

Also pronounced as (Wulong tea). It is not much oxidized as compared to the black tea. Oolong Tea has the caffeine content in between the range of Black Tea and Green Tea & has the aroma of fresh flowers or fresh fruit.

  • ICE TEA:

Ice tea is a form of cold tea and is served in a glass with a tea powder, ice cubes, and water. It is very refreshing and gives a sudden cooling effect.

  • GREEN TEA:

Green tea is a type of non-oxidized tea made from Camellia sinensis leaves. It is different in terms of withering and oxidation process as compared to oolong & black tea. Green tea is very beneficial to health. It contains a lot of nutrients which have a lot of powerful effects on our body and helps us strengthen our immunity and is said to be one of the healthiest beverage in the world.

BENEFITS OF DRINKING TEA:

  • It helps you get rid of stress and tensions
  • It helps you get rid of laziness
  • Reduces the chances of heart attack and stroke
  • Makes your bone stronger
  • Improves Concentration
  • May help fight cancer

SIDE EFFECTS OF CONSUMING TEA:

  • Excessive drinking of tea causes Headache
  • Too many cups of tea a day may cause dehydration
  • Too much tea makes you feel Bloated
  • May cause tea-addiction for some
  • Too much tea can cause a deficiency of some vital nutrients

COFFEE:

Coffee is a brewed drink which is prepared from coffee beans. This is slightly acidic in nature as compared to Tea.

Brazil is the largest producer of coffee in the world. Coffee grains are handpicked and chosen to give a perfect taste. 

TYPES OF COFFEE:

  • Caffè Americano
  • Cappuccino
  • Espresso
  • Cold coffee
  • Long Black
  • Flat white
  • Piccolo Latte
  • Irish Coffee
  • Mochaccino

BENEFITS OF DRINKING COFFEE:

  • Makes you feel relaxed & stress-free
  • Lower the chances of heart attacks
  • Lowered risk of Type 2 Diabetes
  • Lowers risk of Alzheimer’s disease

SIDE EFFECTS OF COFFEE:

  • Too much intake causes insomnia
  • Causes stomach ache
  • Causes nervousness
  • Too much intake leads to an increase in heart beat rate

COFFEE OR TEA??

Tea drinkers have a significantly lower risk of stroke and heart disease, and tea is known to boost brain health. Finally, if you are sensitive to it, the caffeine in tea may also be a con, although the levels are lower than coffee.

For a perfect sleep, try avoiding caffeine for at least 5-6 hours before you go to sleep.
