Blood Pressure, a pressure exerted by the blood upon the walls of the blood vessels. A survey shows that Blood Pressure is characterized by short-term fluctuations and long-term fluctuations. A Normal Blood Pressure reading is 120/80 millimeters of mercury. However, if its reading is 140/90, it indicates high blood pressure. Lower than 120/80 it is indicated as low blood pressure.

Blood Pressure – Its Causes, Symptoms, Treatment

Although there are no such exact reasons because of which problem of Blood Pressure may arise. However, there are some reasons which may add to it, these are as follows:-

  1. Eating habits, as too much salty food, junk food and alcohol can be a major reason for it. Added to it is the physical activities carried out by an individual.
  2. Heredity i.e. family history.
  3. Weight is another major reason.

There are no Such Symptoms of a Blood Pressure but weakness, headaches can be considered as a warning signal of a Blood Pressure.

Proper Diet plans, regular workouts and a regular monitoring of health are some of the common things we often hear of any problems. Similarly, they are also a solution for treating Blood Pressure related issues. A change over one’s Lifestyle can bring on a major change. Medicines are another treatment under the proper guidance and prescription of Doctor.

What to eat and what not in Foods and Fruits

Everyone says we should eat healthily but what does this word healthy exactly means! Does it include fruits and vegetables which are rich in fiber, magnesium, and potassium? You would be surprised to know that they are the most recommended things to eat in order to fight against a blood pressure problem. Foods and Fruits which should be consumed are apples, bananas, carrots, apricots, nuts, seeds, meat, green beans, grapes, spinach, tomatoes, yogurt etc. They are a natural source of potassium, magnesium, and fiber.

For High Blood Pressure

In order to control high blood pressure foods which are low in salt, fats and calories should be preferred with less oil and butter. Some of the foods which should be consumed are:-

  • Berries:

Studies have revealed that Berries like Blueberries, strawberries are a good and a rich source which can help in lowering Blood Pressure.

  • Bananas:

Bananas which are a great source of Potassium are one of the preferred fruits to consume during high blood pressure.

  • Dark Chocolates:

Search has revealed that dark chocolate contains about 60 percent cocoa solids. However, with less sugar which is recommended even by the doctors during high blood pressure.

  • Pomegranates:

A Bowl full of Pomegranates or a glass of juice helps in curing Blood Pressure in a very short period of time.

  • Various other fruits and foods like Kiwis, watermelon, Pistachios, Garlic etc. are amongst the most recommended eateries in order to fight against the problem of Blood Pressure.

For Low Blood Pressure

Eating Certain types of food may help to cure low blood pressure and raise one’s blood pressure, some of them are:-

  • Salt: Foods containing salts should be consumed during low blood pressure.
  • Caffeine: Coffee and drinks containing caffeine can act as an instant source to raise the blood pressure.
  • Being well hydrated also helps to increase Blood pressure.

Blood Pressure measurement is very important for the prevention and treatment of blood pressure related issues at an early stage. Not only an early detection but also its prevention should be taken into consideration by a proper diet along with regular workouts.

Always remember that a good diet is the first step towards improving your medical condition.
